How to use - Solar thermal concentrator

  • While keeping the mirror protected by its cardboard cover, turn the solar concentrator against the Sun (the shadow of the Alligator Clip should be reflected on the cardboard cover).

     

    Attach the black truffle cup filled with some water to the crocodile clip. Then remove slightly the mirror cover (about 1 cm) to unveil only a small part of the mirror.

     

    Locate the focus point (where the sun is concentrated) using the palm of the hand. It's a very small bright spot.

     

    Set the orientation of the concentrator and the position of the crocodile clip so that the focus point is located just under the truffle cup.



  • (1) Protect yourself with sunglasses.

     

    (2) Reveal slowly the mirror by gradually removing its cover.

     

    (3) The water will quickly begin to boil.

     

    Avertissement

    Always protect your eyes with sunglasses.

     

    Avertissement Never turn the mirror in the direction of your eyes. Use the oven only in places without a risk of fire.

     

    Avertissement Allow the solar concentrator to cool down after use (it reaches up to 300 °C )
