How to use ? - Hydroelectric power plant 1

  • Step 1

Report the patern of the turbine on the aluminium plate according to the model (downloadable in the blueprints/plans section).

Drill the centre with a 5 mm bit.

Cut the disk with a pair of scissors as well as all the continuous line.

Form the turbine blades by folding the doted lines with pliers.

  • Step 2

Remove the tip of the dynamo with a box cutter and a screwdriver.

Pass an M5 bolt successively through a washer, the turbine, another washer and a nut.

Tighten everything with a wrench and a screwdriver.

With a box cutter, remove the metal piece inside the plastic part of a very large electrical connector.

Use this connection piece to attach (by screwing) the turbine to the dynamo.

  • Step 3

Drill a hole (M5) at 1 cm from the top of the slat.

Attach the dynamo to the slat using a bolt, a washer and a wingnut (M5)

  • Step 4

Connect to the long electrical wire (2 to 3 meters) to the dynamo (one wire clipped to the back of the dynamo, the other one connected to the bolt passing through the wooden stick).

At the other end connect a "male" electrical connector.

  • Step 5

Connect 3 LED to electric connectors.

  • Step 6

Report the marks on the board (downloadable diagram in the blueprints/plan section).

Strongly mark the places for the screws and nails with an awl.

  • Step 7

Hammer the flat head nails on the board and screw the 4 connectors as shown on the illustration.

  • Step 8

As shown on the drawing :

Tie three 15 cm wires to the flat-head nails (a), and then connect them to the connectors.

Tie three 10 cm wires from to the flat head nails (b). Twist the other ends around three rounded head nails (c), and hammer them down.

Tie three other 10 cm wires to paper clips and then connect them to the connectors. Fix the paper clips from above (d) by hammering rounded head nails on top.

Connect two copper wires (e) to the female connector and twist them several times on each nail to form a "power line".
