Réalisation - Parabolic solar Grill

  • Etape 1

Print twice the model downloaded in from the blueprints/plans section.

Combine the two papers to form the plan.

Report the model as shown on the illustration below, on a large piece of corrugated cardboard.

-Cut with a box cutter the parts shown in yellow.

-Make holes with an awl where green dots are shown

-With a boxcutter, mark the blue lines very genly to ease folding.

  • Etape 2

Fold the board and insert the flexible mirror plate into the two parabolic slots until they slightly come out each side.

Use some adhesive tape to hold the mirror in place for a while.

  • Etape 3

With a cutter, mark lightly the blue lines of the two small strips of cardboard and bend them to form two "bridges". Glue these "bridges" at both ends of the oven between the two sides. Strengthen it all with some black fabrick adhesive tape.

  • Etape 4

Drill a M5 hole in the two wood slats at 10 cm of one their ends.

  • Etape 5

To attach the feet, proceed on both sides as follows:

Pass a large washer on a M5 bolt. Then pass it through the inside of one of the grill side.

From outside, pass another large washer. Screw two nuts and tighten them against each other. Add a plastic washer, a wood slat followed by another plastic washer. Tighten the foot with a wingnut.

  • Etape 6

Cut out a "window" in the small cardboard rectangle and tape some space blanket on its back.

  • Etape 7

Using black adhesive tape as a hinge, fix the "window" on the top of the grill.
